Manufacturing sales in Saskatchewan rose 10.6 per cent in March from the month before. Only Nova Scotia was higher. the national average was a rise of just 3.5 per cent. Compared to the same month a year before, sales rose nearly 30 per cent here. This time, only New Brunswick could beat that. Nationally, sales rose about 15 per cent. Total sales in Saskatchewan in March were worth $1.49 billion.
In the Saskatoon census metropolitan area, sales were up about 26 per cent month to month. Of 12 CMAs surveyed, 4 were able to beat that. Year to year, sales here were up 14 per cent. Again, four CMA’s bettered that. Total sales in the Saskatoon CMA rang in at $389 million.
