Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Saskatoon and Area hope young girls from the city will feel better about themselves after taking part in the “Be You” program. Marketing and Events Coordinator Michelle Fergusson says the promotion is aimed at helping girls between the ages of 9-and-16 feel good about who they are. She says self-esteem for young girls can be fragile with the perceived expectations brought on by mass and social media and it’s hoped the girls who take part leave feeling empowered. Events Tuesday night from 6-to-7:30 at Lawson Heights Mall include a scavenger hunt and sneaker decorating contest. Events at Centre Mall from 1-to-3 p.m. Saturday include a self-esteem coaching session and sneaker decorating competition.
