Hudson Bay RCMP say 30 year old Matthew Barker of Hudson Bay is facing 12 charges including Arson-Disregard for Human Life and Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon. The incident started last Wednesday shortly after 4:30 in the afternoon when officers were tracking down a person wanted on outstanding warrants.
When officers arrived at Leason Trailer Court in Hudson Bay they heard a bang and saw smoke coming from an outbuilding. When they opened the door they observed gas and propane tanks with one open and emitting fumes into the air. A fire was put out and the tanks were removed from the building. No one was injured.
Barker was also arrested on outstanding warrants from Manitoba RCMP and is back in court May 20th.
