Following a 4-15-4 2021 W-H-L development season that left them in the basement of, both, the Central Division and Eastern Conference standings, the Red Deer Rebels are making moves.
In a deal involving 19-year-old veterans Monday, the Rebels acquired goaltender Connor Ungar from Brandon for defenceman Mason Ward. Red Deer also picked up 20-year-old forward Liam Keeler from Edmonton for 19-year-old forward Jaxsen Wiebe on Monday.
Those two trades followed a Friday deal that saw the Rebels pick up a conditional second round selection in the 2022 W-H-L Draft from Seattle for the rights to American forward Gracyn Sawchyn. Those three trades are the only ones made in the W-H-L since all four divisions concluded their schedules.
