Saskatoon Police say that Multiple Police vehicles were damaged during an evade-police incident early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:15, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle at Avenue P and 22nd Street. When they tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver raced off. The Air Support Unit watched the vehicle being driven erratically into the downtown core, before stopping in the 700 block of 3rd Avenue North. From there police allege, the driver struck three Patrol Cars and nearly struck a number of officers, who had left their cars. The suspect driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle at 2nd Avenue North and Princess Street, fleeing on foot. Both were arrested in the area of 1st Avenue and King Street. No one was injured.

A machete, a knife, two cans of bear spray, 60 grams of methamphetamine, scales, drug packaging and cell phones were allegedly found inside the suspect vehicle.

A 28-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Prince Albert, are charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, 4 counts of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Release.

The man is also charged with three counts of Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, three counts of Failure to Stop After an Accident, and two impaired driving-related offences.
