A 25 year old woman has pleaded guilty to three charges from a human trafficking investigation of the Saskatoon Police Service. Dilshad Ali Zada was 25 at the time of her arrest in June of 2019. Saskatoon Police reported at the time that she had been charged with three counts each of human trafficking, uttering threats and theft over $5,000.

In Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to uttering threats to cause bodily harm, withholding identification documents, and theft exceeding $5,000 and Zada was given a conditional sentence of 18 months to be served in the community.

In March of 2019, the VICE unit began an investigation after being told that a woman was recruiting and trafficking three different women for the purpose of sexual exploitation in various Saskatchewan and Alberta cities. Two of the victims were from Quebec and the other was from Moose Jaw.
