A female youth faces a criminal charge following a firearm/weapons call at a Regina high school that ended without incident on Wednesday.
At about 10:40 a.m. on May 26, Regina Police were called to the high school in the 5200 block of Rochdale Boulevard because of a report of what appeared to be a firearm tucked into the waistband of the pants of a female student inside the school. Lockdown protocols were excuted before patrol officers were able to safely take the suspect into custody and seize the firearm, which ended up being a realistic-looking CO2 pellet gun. A single criminal charge of carrying a concealed weapon was made against the female student. She cannot be named by provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but will make her first court appearance on Thursday at 9 a.m.
