A traffic check stop on Friday evening in Archerwill led to an arrest, seizure of drugs and drug trafficking charges for the driver of the stopped vehicle.

Brett Holte was stopped at about 7:30 p.m. on May 21st at the junction of Highways 35 and 249 in Archerwill by Greenwater R-C-M-P. It was determined the 35-year-old Herndon resident had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Rose Valley R-C-M-P detachment. Holte was also deemed impaired by a roadside sobriety test and was issued a 72-hour license suspension. In addition, a search of Holte’s car found 61 grams of cocaine, 72 grams of methamphetamine, 12 grams of heroin and a sum of Canadian cash. Holte made his first court appearance on Tuesday in Yorkton on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and cocaine, possession of heroin and possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000. He was remanded into custoday and will make his next court appearance on Friday.
