A Kindersley woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of her infant daughter. Teenie Rose Steer was originally charged with second-degree murder.

In September of 2018, Kindersley RCMP responded to a home about a one-month old baby girl in cardiac arrest. Emergency crews arrived but the child did not survive. After an autopsy was done, lead investigators believed the death was suspicious so the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the case.

It was about 17 months later when Steer was charged. She appeared by video from the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford and pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Her sentencing date hasn’t been set yet.
