Premier Scott Moe believes Canada is at a crossroads that can lead either to unity and pride, or a place where we are reduced to provinces competing for self-interests. Speaking to a Regina Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, Moe says some areas of the country are being singled out. As an example he points to the federal government not advancing the Low Carbon Economy fund to one province – Saskatchewan. Moe says its disappointing to hear western separatism entering the discussion. he says we have built a strong and prosperous nation that we can all be proud of. The premier says there have been policies coming out over the last four years that are divisive with respect to certain industries that are creating this type of conversation. Opposition leader Ryan Meili was also there, and accused Moe of being the one who is being divisive with his comments; accusing the premier of issuing a warning to federal leaders to support his ideas or else. He also wondered why the premier said nothing about layoffs in the uranium and potash industries.
