Stanley Mission RCMP say they searched a vehicle after seeing alcohol in plain sight and say officers ended up seizing a large quantity of unlawfully possessed alcohol.

Traffic patrol on Highway 915 say the vehicle they pulled over had four adults and one child inside and they seized nineteen 66-ounce bottles of whiskey; four 66-ounce bottles of vodka; ten 2-litre bottles of cider and an unloaded firearm. Some of the alcohol and the firearm were allegedly located under the child’s seat.

One woman has been charged with Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Beverage Alcohol under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act. Stanley Mission RCMP say this is the fifth Unlawful Possession of Beverage Alcohol charge their detachment has laid this year.
