Prince Albert Police responded to a vehicle theft in progress call just after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 13-hundred block of 7th Street East and when they tried to pull the vehicle over, it sped off.
In addition, police say the vehicle tried to ram several police vehicles. A pursuit headed westbound onto Highway 3 and ended after the suspect vehicle slammed into a police car causing it to roll into the ditch.
The officer was treated in hospital and released, the suspect wasn’t hurt. A 25 year old man now faces, in addition to several outstanding warrants and a breach of recognizance related to criminal charges – failing to top for police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He is in court Friday.
Police believe a second man may be involved and is asking anyone with information or video surveillance from the area, is asked to contact Prince Albert Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
