Wolseley Mayor Gerald Hill says, “this isn’t supposed to happen in his town.” That after RCMP Constable Shelby Patton was killed Saturday morning after a truck that he believed had been stolen, and that he had stopped, ran over him before fleeing. Mayor Hill says emotions are quite raw, “A lot of people from town know the family, so there is still a lot of shock and disbelief by a lot of people.”
Two people from Winnipeg have been charged with manslaughter and other offences. 41-year-old Alphonse Stanley Traverse and 42-year-old Marlene Velma Louise Pagee made a court appearance in Regina this morning. Pagee will be back in court on Friday while Traverse will appear again next Monday. (CKRM)
