Battleford RCMP responded to a report of a male pointing a firearm at another individual in the area of the 1300 block of 110th Street in North Battleford at about 9 pm Monday. A suspect vehicle was located by police a short time later and a traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle fled. It was pursued to Highway 4 and Willowmore Road, where it entered the ditch. Police say three people fled on foot.

Two women were quickly arrested and taken into custody. But officers say they saw a man enter a wooded area carrying a firearm. The area was contained and the Police Dog Unit, the Saskatoon Police Air Unit, and the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team were called in.

The suspect was located and taken into custody at about 3 o’clock this morning and a firearm was recovered at the time of arrest.

All three remain in custody and the investigation in ongoing. A decision on charges has yet to be determined.
