Environment Canada’s forecast for the western half of the province hasn’t changed much and the heat warning continues. Meteorologist Sarah Hoffman says it will be another hot one today (Tuesday) and then a system coming in from Alberta could bring thunderstorms, cooling things off for tomorrow to more seasonal temperatures.

Ten hot weather records were tied or broken in Saskatchewan on Monday, including Kindersley, Meadow Lake and Waskesiu. Kindersley topped off at 34.1, breaking its record from 1986 of 32.9. Meadow Lake’s old record was 30.5 and now sits at 32.4. Waskesiu’s record is now 29.7 for June 14th.

Saskatoon didn’t break its record of 32.6 set in 2009, reaching 31.9 on Monday. Prince Albert’s record stands at 32.3, with a record of 31.1.
