Beginning Wednesday, the old Highway 35 Bridge in Nipawin will be completely closed. The Ministry of Highways says it is because of rapidly deteriorating conditions. A news release from the Ministry states that the bridge was always due to close following the construction of a replacement bridge on Highway 55 in 1974, just over 5 kilometres away. The Highway 35 Bridge was built in 1931. The Ministry apologizes for the short notice.
