A new survey from pollster Angus Reid says Canadians are struggling with rising costs, and lower-income households are bracing for worse months ahead.

As we begin to see light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, inflation storm clouds are moving in. Nationally, inflation has risen 3.6 per cent compared to last year. Angus Reid says, 96 per cent of people polled say home renovations have become more expensive, 95 per cent say that about the purchase price of new homes, 93 per cent note the cost of gasoline, and 92 per cent when it comes to groceries. Fifty-six per cent of renters have seen their monthly cost go up as well.

Thirty-four per cent of Canadian say they ae worse off now than they were at this time a year ago.

Residents of Alberta at 45 per cent, and Saskatchewan at 43 per cent, are the most likely to report being worse off.
