The Saskatchewan Health Authority says the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines can be safely substituted for each other. This announcement comes on the heels of a delay in the shipment of Pfizer vaccines expected to arrive this week, so some of the clinics will be offering Moderna instead.
The SHA states that Saskatchewan’s clinical experts advise residents affected by the delay to accept Moderna for their second dose, because it is safe and effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Residents with booked appointments affected by the delay will be notified by text or email. If you aren’t signed up for notifications, you will be contacted directly. Appointment times and locations will remain the same.
