The former ski chalet building at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, will be renovated and converted into a modern, multi-purpose visitor centre. Regina-based Westridge Construction Ltd. will begin work on the project this summer. The renovation is expected to cost more than $1.1 million and is anticipated to open to the public in summer 2022.

The province says that the visitor centre will serve as a hub for interpretive programs and a gathering point for park visitors, including hiking and biking enthusiasts. It will feature space for a coffee shop and kiosks for future park businesses.

The work is funded through the provincial stimulus program.
