A pilot party bicycle program now has the go ahead from City Council to hit the streets of Saskatoon.
The City Solicitor has been directed to create a formal agreement to allow the program and to research the operation of party bicycles when the pilot is complete.
Mayor Charlie Clark says it will be important to monitor the program for public feedback, for things like noise concerns. He adds it is a welcome sight in the city at a time when we want to bring vibrancy to the downtown, and get people to the core of the city, in a safe way, to have some fun.
The party bicycle pilot will allow the transportation to operate this summer.
Party bicycles are multi-passenger bicycles usually accommodating eight or more riders and provide transportation services on roadways.
Clark confirmed for those worried about the noise, the pilot program would not be operating past 9:30 p.m. on any given night.
