A five hour standoff with a barricaded person at an RV Park on Saskatoon’s north end, ended peacefully early this morning.

Saskatoon police say there was a fight called in around 9:15 p.m. involving three people and weapons were reported to be involved. Two men and a woman were located outside of a motorhome when officers arrived. Two were taken into custody while one man barricaded himself inside a motorhome with what was believed to be a gun. To ensure public safety, other campers in the RV Park, near Highway 16 and 71st Street West, were evacuated.

Police say the suspect was aggressive towards officers, threatening them and at one point allegedly threw a knife. A conducted energy weapon was successfully deployed and the suspect was taken into custody. A rifle was located inside the motorhome.

A 52-year-old Langham man is facing four firearms-related offences and is charged with Assaulting a Police Officer and Causing a Disturbance. A 40-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, both from Saskatoon, are also charged with Causing a Disturbance.
