Correctional Services Canada says on Tuesday, Phillip Vince, an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre, died while in custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.
At the time of his death, he had been serving a life sentence for First Degree Murder and Manslaughter. His sentence began October 3, 1977.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances. Police and the coroner have been notified.
