The Saskatoon Fire Department is investigating after a house fire on Saturday night.

At 7:26 p.m. the Saskatoon Fire Department received a report of a fire at the rear of a home in the 200 Block of Avenue E North.  Three fire engines, a ladder truck, a heavy rescue unit and the Battalion Chief were dispatched.  On arrival at 7:30 p.m., fire crews reported a deck and the house were on fire.  Utility companies were called to completely shut down the utilities and provide additional scene safety.

The fire had breached from the outside to the inside of the home and fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in the exterior before heading inside to completely extinguish the fire.  No persons or animals were found in the structure during the fire crews’ searches.

The fire scene was turned over to the Fire Investigator who began conducting a scene examination to determine the cause, origin and a fire damage estimate.

No civilians or firefighters were injured as a result of this fire.
