With only 19 new cases and 34 recoveries reported Sunday, Saskatchewan’s active cases of COVID-19 dropped back below 400 at 399.
Fifty-four of the active cases are individuals in hospital with six infections receiving treatment in an I-C-U. There was another death in the province, raising the total to 573 since the pandemic was declared in mid-March of 2020. The seven-day average of new novel coronavirus cases dropped slightly to 43.
Highlights
- As of July 11th, there are 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 49,260 reported cases.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (2), Far North Central (1), Far North East (5), North Central (1), Saskatoon (4), Central East (1), Regina (3), and South East (1) zones; and one (1) case has pending residence information.
- Two (2) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (June 26(1)) and Saskatoon (July 9(1)) zones.
- One (1) case was deemed to be a SK resident tested positive out of province and added to the South East (July 8(1)) zone.

- 145 cases have pending residence information
- 399 cases are considered active and 48,288 cases are considered recovered.
- 12,693 of the cases are individuals in the 19 and under age category; all others are adults, with 50.2% of the cases males and 49.5% females.
- 4% (1,784) of cases are travel-related, 61% (30,287) are contacts to known cases or involved in mass gathering(s), 27% (13,108) have no known exposures and 8% (4,081) are under investigation by local public health.
- 2,541 cases are healthcare workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related.
- As of July 11th, a total of 54 individuals are hospitalized; including 48 inpatient hospitalizations and 6 ICU hospitalizations.
- One (1) new death reported today. 573 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.2%
- 934,928 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of July 9, 2021 when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 788,294 tests performed per million. The national rate of 982,182 tests performed per million population.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 43 (3.5 per 100,000).
