Saskatoon police say a 16 year old girl is in custody and will be appearing at youth court this morning (mon) facing numerous impaired charges. Around 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning, police received complaints of an SUV driving into a backyard fence in the 400 block of Caldwell Crescent and of an erratic driver in the Parkridge neighbourhood of Saskatoon.
Patrol officers found the suspect vehicle, at McCormack Rd. and Neatby Crescent where a traffic stop was initiated. Officers say the suspect vehicle pulled over before reversing into the front of the police vehicle. Other officers attended and the driver was arrested for impaired driving.
Police allege that damage caused by the impaired driver was found on two fences, a parked van, an uprooted tree, a downed lamp post and the police vehicle. Charges of Impaired Driving, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Level over .08, Dangerous Driving and Hit and Run are being laid.
