Corman Park Police Service says it was busy on the weekend dealing with impaired drivers starting on Friday evening when they received multiple 911 calls about a vehicle on Highway 14 west of Saskatoon. Callers reported a vehicle in oncoming traffic, in the ditch, and hitting multiple pylons in the construction zones. The vehicle came to a stop when a nearby motorist took the keys from the driver. Officers on scene determined the driver was impaired by drug and took them to be tested by a drug recognition expert at Dalmeny Police Service where it was determined they were impaired by multiple different drugs. The driver was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, possessing a controlled substance and refusal.

CPPS also partnered with the RCMP and conducted a stop check on Valley Road near Paradise Beach on Saturday afternoon where three drivers were arrested for impaired driving, and two more were suspended.

Corman Park Police also conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 near Warman on a suspected impaired driver early Sunday morning. Police allege the driver has not had a licence, ever, and failed a drug test for cannabis. The vehicle was impounded.
