Elbow RCMP say a man who went missing earlier this month has been located in Lake Diefenbaker.

On Thursday the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) reported to Elbow RCMP that they had located a deceased individual in Lake Diefenbaker during a search they were conducting.

Elbow RCMP and Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers attended the scene and recovered the body of a 36-year-old man who did not resurface after jumping in the lake to help his children on July 1.

No name is being released and his family has been notifed.

Since July 1, HEART, the Elbow/Outlook RCMP detachment, the Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association have conducted searches for the man on Lake Diefenbaker.
