The total value of building permits in Canada rose about seven per cent in June. Seven provinces contributed to the gain. Saskatchewan registered a rise of 27.6 per cent. Compared to June of last year, the value in the country was up 24 per cent. In Saskatchewan it was up nearly 77 per cent. The total value of permits in the province came to $160.3 million.
For the Saskatoon Census metropolitan area, the value was up 22.5 per cent month to month and 127.2 per cent over the year. The total value here was $85.4 million. In Regina, the value was up about 19 per cent in June and about 82 per cent from the same month a year ago.
