COVID-19 is a top priority for Canadians according to an Angus Reid survey. In terms of the issues people care most about, the top three are neck-and-neck with 35 per cent pointing to the environment and climate change, 33 per cent health care, and 31 per cent COVID-19. Reconciliation with Indigenous people ranks eighth with 17 per cent.
Angus Reid says the biggest change in tracking the issues is the re-appearance of COVID-19 in the top three, after a brief reprieve. The pollster attributes that to uncertainty over the impact of the Delta variant, which is running rampant around the globe. The Corona virus reached a low point of concern with 19 per cent in mid to July, only to ramp back up in the latest poll.
