The Minister of Justice and Attorney General has appointed Barry Wilcox, Q.C. as the interim Chief Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission. He has been a commissioner with the Human Rights Commission since 2011 and has served as Deputy Chief of the Commission since 2018.

Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant  thanked  Wilcox for agreeing to act as Chief Commissioner as the search continues for a new permanent Chief Commissioner.
