Saskatchewan has recorded its highest daily count of new cases of COVID-19 since May 30.
Thursday’s updated novel coronavirus dashboard on the provincial government website showed 141 new cases as opposed to 28 recoveries, spiking the number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to 793, the highest that number has been since June 13th when their were 809 active cases in the province. The number of hospitalised patients rose by four to 69 with 11 of the infections being treated in an I-C-U. The seven-day average for new cases of the virus in Saskatchewan has jumped up to 93 while two more people died because of COVID-19 upping the provincial fatality count to 586. As for vaccinations, 1,985 people received their second dose on Wednesday out of a total of 2,755 shots received by Saskatchewan residents.

- As of August 12th, there are 141 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 50,912 reported cases.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (19), Far North Central (2), Far North East (29), North West (8), North Central (9), North East (5), Saskatoon (18), Central West (1), Central East (6), Regina (2), South West (15), South Central (7) and South East (17) zones, and three (3) new cases are pending residence information.
- Two (2) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (from August 10(1)) and Central East (from August 9(1)) zones

- 12,280 cases are from the Regina area
- 11,982 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 11,136 cases are from the North area (4,829 North West, 4,666 North Central, 1,641 North East)
- 6,044 cases are from the South area (1,192 South West, 1,956 South Central, 2,896 South East)
- 5,990 cases are from the Far North area (3,005 Far North West, 438 Far North Central, 2,547 Far North East)
- 3,324 cases are from the Central area (858 Central West, 2,466 Central East)
- 156 cases have pending residence information
- 793 cases are considered active and 49,533 cases are considered recovered
- About two-fifths (40.4%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category
- As of August 12th, a total of 69 individuals are hospitalized, including 58 inpatient hospitalizations and 11 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 69 patients, 50 (73%) are not fully vaccinated.
- Two (2) new deaths reported today. 586 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.2%
- 980,401 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 10, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 825,673 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,029,468 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 93 (7.7 per 100,000).
