A Turtleford RCMP officer was shot yesterday (Tues) morning responding to an erratic and possibly impaired driver near Mervin.
The officer suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The two officers who approached the vehicle returned fire. The suspect was arrested, and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Assistant Commissioner Mark Fisher says this is a scenario RCMP members fear with every call.
The officer has since been released from hospital, and Regina Police are now taking over the investigation.
