RCMP in Redcliff, Albert responded to a serious accident on Highway 1 on August 7th where a 35 year old woman from Lloydminster was ejected from the car and declared dead on the scene. Preliminary investigation from the RCMP indicates an eastbound car with two people inside clipped an eastbound pick-up truck when it was overtaking it, causing the driver of the car to lose control. The car rolled several times landing in the ditch.

The 35 year old was the driver of the car. The 18 year old male passenger of Brooks, Alberta was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. The 60 year old Winnipeg man driving the pick-up truck received treatment for non life threatening injuries. The name of the woman who died will not be released.
