The Saskatchewan Health Authority is advising anyone who was at the Roughrider game last Friday, August 6th, there is increased risk of exposure to COVID-19. A person or persons attended while infectious in the Pil Country section of Mosaic Stadium.
Anyone who attended, and particularly those watching from the Pil Country zone should self-monitor for symptoms of the virus, and if symptoms develop, start self-isolating and seek testing. The SHA describes self-isolation as staying home, avoiding contact with anyone who is not fully vaccinated and stay away from work, school, stores, social events and any other public setting.
In a media release from the team the Saskatchewan Roughriders are encouraging fans to get vaccinated and wear masks to Mosaic Stadium saying these are some of the best methods to protect oneself from the virus. The Roughriders’ organization says it worked closely with provincial health officials throughout the spring and summer and followed their recommendations as it re-opened Mosaic Stadium to fans. The organization says it will continue to rely on their expertise and guidance going forward. The Roughriders also wished the fan who tested positive for COVID-19 a “smooth recovery”.
