According to various media reports, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to launch the federal election on Sunday, with a possible election day set for September 20th.

If that happens, the election would be 36 days in length, which is the shortest length permitted.  If the minority government were to continue, the next fixed election date would be October of 2023.
