Regina Police say they have arrested two male youths and charged them in connection with a use of bear spray incident on Saturday at the Queen City Exhibition. Otherwise, the R-P-S say they attended to a relatively low number of criminal and nuisance complaints over the three-day weekend at the Ex.
On Friday, two intoxicated males were escorted from the Evras Place grounds and banned for the day, a male was arrested after being identified as the subject of a warrant and an adult male was charged in a domestic-related assault.
Besides the bear spray incident, Saturday included beefed up police numbers because of the evening Riders-Ottawa game at Mosaic Stadium next door to the Exhibition. In addition, a male was arrested for being intoxicated, a female youth was arrested for breaches of curfew and alcohol conditions while there were fights reported with the combatants either expelled from the grounds or breaking it up and dispersing before police arrived.
On a rainy Sunday, in which the Exhibition was delayed in opening and didn’t get busy until the evening, an intoxicated male was arrested after, twice, trying to climb the gates to get in while an intoxicated female was reported as an unwanted guest.
