Battlefords RCMP say an 80 year old man sustained injuries including a suspected broken hip and some cuts to his arm when a male, believed armed with a knife, is reported to have assaulted the victim and tried to steal his truck.  He was unsuccessful. Police say it happened shortly after 7 pm on Wednesday on 33rd Street in Battleford.

The suspect fled the area on foot after a brief struggle.  The victim was taken to hospital and is currently being treated.  The Suspect is described as First Nations in his early twenties with short black hair wearing black shorts with a white stripe and a grey hoody.
