A modern expanded hanger for the forest fire-fighting fleet is now operating in La Ronge.

The four-year 14-million dollar project included the additions of a full foam sprinkler system and 60-thousand gallon water tank.

The expanded hanger is also about 40-percent larger with a resurfaced floor, office and training centre and new equipment including an overhead crane.

Officials say larger aircraft will now have easier access to the hangar improving safety and will add many more years of life to the existing facilities.
