SaskTel has been joined by five other Crown Corporations and a Crown Agency when it comes to the threat of a strike. Unifor who also represents workers at SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SecurTek, DirectWest, SaskWater, and the Water Security Agency issued a news release on Thursday threatening job action as soon as midnight on Monday. In the release it states that crown employees should be getting a wage increase because Premier Scott Moe and his MLA’s saw a 2.3 per cent bump themselves. The two sides were expected to begin bargaining again yesterday after a noon hour news conference by Unifor. The provincial government also issued a notice on Thursday saying new offers had been made yesterday. Reports say SaskTel received an initial offer of a new three year deal with a one per cent wage hike in the third year.
