Saskatoon Police say one person suffered head injuries in a three vehicle accident around 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Police remain on scene and say the debris area from the collision is spread over a large area. In an update issued around 10 p.m. police indicated they expected the area would be restricted for some time as the investigation and clean up continue.
The accident took place at Boychuck Drive and Briarwood Road. Both pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Boychuck Drive between Briarwood Road and 8th Street East is impacted.
Three people are in hospital receiving treatment for injuries suffered in the crash and a 25 year old woman has been taken into custody in relation to the accident. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident and initial reports regarding the collision indicate a white SUV had been travelling at a high rate of speed and had collided with other vehicles.
