COVID-19 hospitalizations in Saskatchewan are at their highest since April 20 while the number of new cases of the novel coronavirus recorded in Friday’s dashboard update from the provincial government website is the highest since November 21 for the second time in a week.
There are 190 positive COVID-19 cases in hospital, including 39 in an I-C-U, according to Friday’s update, while 432 new cases of the virus were reported. Coupled with 273 recoveries and one COVID-19-related fatality and Saskatchewan’s active case count is at 3,573. Otherwise, vaccination numbers went up Thursday as 2,856 doses were administered with 1,587 of those shots going to provincial residents now considered fully vaccinated.

- As of September 10th, there are 432 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 57,952 reported cases
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (22), Far North Central (4), Far North East (20), North West (77), North Central (69), North East (18), Saskatoon (93), Central West (10), Central East (18), Regina (31), South West (4), South Central (8) and South East (20) zones and 38 new cases have pending residence information
- Thirty-six (36) cases with pending location were assigned to the North West (from Sept 4(1), Sept 8(6)), North Central (Sept 2(1), Sept 6(1), Sept 8(19)), North East (Sept 8(2)), Saskatoon (Sept 8(1)), Central East (Sept 8(1)), and South East (Sept 7(4)) zones
- One (1) case was a repeat test and removed from the North West (from Sept 5(1)) zone
- 57,952 cases are confirmed
- 13,982 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 13,498 cases are from the North area (5,645 North West, 5,800 North Central, 2,053 North East)
- 12,653 cases are from the Regina area
- 7,149 cases are from the Far North area (3,395 Far North West, 510 Far North Central, 3,244 Far North East)
- 6,600 cases are from the South area (1,339 South West, 2,099 South Central, 3,162 South East)
- 3,724 cases are from the Central area (1,018 Central West, 2,706 Central East)
- 346 cases have pending residence information
- 3,573 cases are considered active and 53,762 cases are considered recovered
- Over one-third (34.3%) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category
- One in ten (10.0%) new cases was fully vaccinated
- As of September 10th, a total of 190 individuals are hospitalized, including 151 inpatient hospitalizations and 39 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 190 patients, 148 (77.9%) were not fully vaccinated.
- One (1) new death reported today. 617 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,055,858 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of September 8, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 888,443 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,084,806 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 366 (30.4 new cases per 100,000)
