The Regina Police Service is investigating an attempted murder. On Thursday, officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Athol Street around 5:30 in the morning for a report of an injured man. Police say once they arrived, they found a man with a serious neck injury. The man was then taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The victim told police that he was walking when he was then approached by two males. That’s when a brief altercation allegedly took place. It’s believed that one of the males assaulted the victim with a knife.

The investigation is continuing.
