An Alberta couple has been fined more than $14,000 for several hunting offences last year.
The Environment Ministry says last November a conservation officer patrolling near Turtleford noticed a driver using his phone while driving, and stopped him.
During the stop, the officer found a harvested white-tailed doe with improperly applied seals.
An investigation confirmed a man and woman had obtained multiple Saskatchewan resident hunting licenses, despite having lived in Alberta since 2018.
The couple also provided false information about where and when several deer had been harvested, and tried to get someone to cover up their deceptions.
Richard Bannister was fined $10,750 and Valerie Lavelle was fined $3,590.
Both now also have a three-year hunting suspension.
