Prince Albert RCMP say an accident that took place at 4:50 p.m. on Highway #3 on Saturday near Crutwell claimed the life of a 25 year old man.
A car and a truck towing a boat on a trailer collided. The driver of the car, from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, was declared deceased at the scene.
The man driving the truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Parkland Ambulance had indicated they transported two boys, age 10 and 11 to hospital as well. They were stable and in good condition. RCMP say there were two youths in the truck.
Highway #3 was closed for approximately seven hours and the accident is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, last Friday at 11:45 am, Nipawain RCMP responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway #55 near Snowden. A tractor trailer unit collided with a van and the man driving the van was flown by STARS to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and the passenger of the semi were not seriously hurt. Highway #55 at the accident scene was closed for approximately 10 hours and RCMP say the accident is still under investigation.
