Two men have been charged in connection to Saskatoon’s 14th homicide of 2019. One of the accused, who is 26 years of age, has now been charged with second degree murder. The other, 33 years of age, has been charged with accessory after the fact to aggravated assault.
Saskatoon Police and Medavie Services were called to the 900 block of Northumberland Avenue at 2:18 a.m. Saturday morning in Saskatoon’s Massey Place neighbourhood to reports of a man injured after a fight broke out. A 27 year old man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Shortly after 8:00 am Saturday morning, a Traffic Services officer spotted a vehicle matching a suspect vehicle description in the case and pulled it over arresting two people of interest.
Investigators say a number of people were present at the time and witnessed the fight and they believe some have video, of some or all of the event, recorded on personal devices.
