The Regina Police Service says a 21 year old man has been charged in connection to a vehicle/pedestrian fatal accident on Friday. A 67 year old Regina woman was reportedly crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle which had been heading northbound on Broad Street and then turned East on 6th Avenue. The woman was transported to hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.

Police say the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Regina Police located the vehicle involved in the accident and arrested a man alleged to be the driver. Tyrell James Hume is charged with failure to stop after a collision resulting in death. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
