Saskatchewan Roughriders’ defensive end A-C Leonard is apologizing to fans and the team after he was suspended for three games.
He said he won’t go into detail about what happened but feels bad about it. Leonard says he was at Mosaic Stadium until 2 a.m. following the Sunday, September 5 Labour Day Weekend Classic loss to Winnipeg at Mosaic Stadium, trying to provide a urine sample. The game ended at about 7 p.m….some seven hours earlier! Leonard left and was suspended for two games, plus another contest for verbal abuse towards C-F-L doping officials. He will serve that third game this Friday when the Riders visit B-C. The Green and White pass-rusher says he has “nothing to hide” and knew what his consequences were. He says next time he will handle the situation differently and stay until he is able to.
