A fire investigator has determined that a fire in Saskatoon’s Rosewood neighbourhood was accidental. The fire, called in shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, started in the engine compartment
of a vehicle parked inside an attached garage.
The call came in from the 100 block of Pichler Crescent and when firefighters arrived the attached garage was fully involved in fire. Family pets, two cats, have not been found since the fire and a neighbouring home suffered minor heat damage.
Utilities were shut off, the fire got into the roof of the building and the ladder truck was used to put the fire out which took just over an hour.
The fire investigator has estimated damage at $350,000.
