Prior to Saturday night, the last Saskatoon Blades’ regular-season home opening game attracted 6,221 fans to SaskTel Centre to see the Bridge City Bunch battle the arch-rival Prince Albert Raiders in September, 2019.
Back then, there was no such thing as COVID-19 and pandemic restrictions to attend live sporting events as there was this past Saturday. On that evening, 4,352 spectators were in attendance to see the Blue and Gold double Moose Jaw 4-2. Fans attending Saskatoon home games, at least for the time being, must show proof of vaccination or present proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous few days…and wear a mask inside SaskTel Centre. The next home game is October 13 against Brandon. Following are portions of intermission interviews from this past Saturday Les Lazaruk did with Blades’ Owner Mike Priestner (pictured) as well as with team President and G-M Colin Priestner…..
