Former Leader-Post editorial cartoonist Brian Gable is being recognized for his work, with a stamp, as are some others in his profession. Gable, who has been drawing cartoons for 40 years, is now with the Globe and Mail after spending seven years in Regina in the 1980s.
He says there is still a passion for what he does on a day-to-day basis. He considers it a luxury and a privilege to be able to comment in public about one’s personal feelings about what is going on in the world. Gable says he spent a lot of time in school doodling and after being urged to do so by a classmate, he sent some of his work to the university newspaper leading him to the career he has now.
Another cartoonist being recognized is Bruce MacKinnon. His stamp is one commemorating the support given to the Humboldt Broncos and Saskatchewan after the tragic bus crash in 2018. (CKRM)
